Mailchimp (https://mailchimp.com/) is a global email marketing campaign toolkit.
Housebuilder Pro offers a Mailchimp integration which, once setup, automatically syncs Contacts added to HBP with your chosen Audience in Mailchimp.
If you have added any development interest to your Contact in HBP, then they are sent to Mailchimp along with the contact details as tags, allowing you to further segment for marketing purposes.
Contacts that are added to HBP that DO NOT consent to email marketing, are excluded from the Mailchimp synchronisation.
To set up your HBP to Mailchimp synchronisation, please follow the below instructions.
Mailchimp API Key:
To connect your Housebuilder Pro account and Mailchimp account you’ll need this key as it is a way of authenticating that you should have access to this.
Generate an API key
Users with Manager permissions can generate their own API keys. Users with Admin permissions can also see the API keys other account users have generated.
Note: You’ll only be able to see the full API key immediately after you generate it.
After that, you’ll only see the name you’ve given it and its first 4 digits so ensure that you copy it straight away.
To generate an API key, follow these steps.
Navigate to the API Keys section of your Mailchimp account.
Click Create New Key.
Name your key something like HBP Integration
Click Generate Key.
Once Mailchimp has generated your key, click Copy Key to Clipboard. Save your key someplace secure–you won’t be able to see or copy it again. If you lose this key, you’ll need to generate a new key and update our integration to use it.
Click Done.
Adding your API key to Housebuilder Pro
To add your Mailchimp API key to Housebuilder Pro, follow these steps.
Navigate to Admin > Integrations
Paste your API Key into the Mailchimp API field
Click Save
List ID:
List IDs are found in Mailchimp, these are groups of customers maintained in Mailchimp to receive specific campaigns.
However, this feature is an excellent way to target your campaigns targeting certain groups of customers. Say perhaps those with properties on certain developments.
When you create a new audience or list in Mailchimp, a List ID is automatically generated and assigned to it. This List ID is used to reference and identify the specific audience or list within your Mailchimp account.
The List ID can be found in the URL of the audience or list settings page in your Mailchimp account. You can also access the List ID by navigating to the Audience dashboard and clicking on the specific audience or list name. The List ID is displayed under the audience or list name on this page.

Adding your List id to Housebuilder Pro
To add your List ID key to Housebuilder Pro, follow these steps.
Navigate to Admin > Integrations
Paste your List ID into the Mailchimp List ID field
Click Save
Once both the API key and List ID are present in HBP, any contacts added manually, or via Rightmove/your website (if you have this set up), will automatically get synced unless the contact does not have permission for Email Marketing .
